- Redevelopment Tax Credits Brownfield/Grayfield Sites. This program assists with redevelopment aimed at improving Iowa’s economy while reducing environmental hazards. September 1.

- Iowa's Living Roadways Community Visioning. Iowa communities that need to improve their transportation systems, such as entrance corridors, streetscapes, sidewalks, or trails, are encouraged to apply for Community Visioning. We give priority to communities that lack planning resources within the city government. September 1.

- Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy Program (RISE) Local Development. Supports local economic development but does not require an immediate commitment of funds (e.g., industrial parks, tourist attractions), or does not meet the immediate opportunity criteria. Local match is typically 50% of the RISE eligible costs. Locations certified through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Iowa Certified Site Program may be eligible for greater RISE participation. Due September 1.

- Wahlert Foundation. Embracing Christian values and guided by compassion for those less fortunate, the Wahlert Foundation continues the legacy of the Wahlert family by acting as a steward of the Foundation’s assets for the betterment of life in the Dubuque, Iowa, community by giving primarily in the areas of education, food, shelter, human services, and a limited funding of the arts. Applications are accepted between June 1 and September 1.

- Grants for Tech. Through a partnership with the University of Dubuque, small nonprofit organizations (that do not employ IT staff) within the Dubuque area can apply to receive technology assessments through the Grants for Tech program.  The grant program will pay for technology improvements for nonprofits to help make their organizations more effective and grow stronger. Grants awarded will be a minimum of $2,000, with a maximum grant award of $10,000.

- Alliant Energy Community Grants. Funds are only available for organizations within the communities Alliant Energy serves. Focus areas: Hunger and housing; Workforce readiness; Environmental stewardship; Community safety and engagement. Due September 15.

- River Bluff Community Foundation. The Community Foundation offers grants as a way of building strong nonprofits to support strong communities. Awards range from $500 to $5,000. 

- The RJ McElroy Trust only supports programs, projects or endeavors that help young people. We promise to work with you and be as flexible as we can with the timing of your proposal. If you aren’t ready to submit for one meeting, we can review your grant at the next. Do not hesitate to call or email us with questions about timing. We can help you decide what is right for you and your organization. Due September 24.

- Community Foundation of Jackson County. We award grants in the priority areas of community development, diversity, education, our environment, health and human services, children, youth, families and senior citizens, arts and culture including historic preservation, and wellness projects. Due September 30.

- The Iowa Tourism Marketing Grant program provides funding for tourism partners around the state to market Iowa's places, attractions and events to out-of-state audiences. The grant may not be used for infrastructure and is not intended to pay expenses associated with the implementation of an event. Due September 30.
