- Federal Recreational Trails (FRT). Funding to provide and maintain motorized and non-motorized recreational trails and trail-related projects. Due September 30.

- Iowa Clean Air Attainment Program (ICAAP). Funding for highway/street, transit, bicycle/pedestrian or freight projects or programs which help maintain Iowa’s clean air quality by reducing transportation-related emissions. Eligible highway/street projects must be on the federal-aid system; see website for more information. October 1.

- The Community Foundation of Cedar County is here to help our community's charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area. One of the ways that is done is through grantmaking. The Foundation annually distributes funds from its endowment earnings to numerous area non-profit organizations to fulfill our mission, "To enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve by encouraging permanent charitable giving to meet the needs of present and future generations." The Community Foundation has a broad, flexible purpose providing support to a wide variety of non-profit organizations. Due October 11.

- Jones County Community Foundation grants to projects benefiting persons residing in Jones County, Iowa. Our priorities include economic well-being, quality of life, educational opportunities, tourism and recreation, and Jones County heritage preservation. Due October 15.

- Walmart - Spark Good Local Grants. Local grants are designed to support local organizations that meet the unique needs of the communities where we operate, build pride among all associates, and deepen relationships with our customers. Each year, Walmart U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs and Distribution Centers award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5000. Due October 15.

- Community Foundation of Cedar County. Fall Matching Grant Cycle:  Organizations eligible to receive these awards will have to provide proof of a dollar-for-dollar match for a project. Matching funds shall consist of dollars acquired through an organization’s fundraising or private solicitation efforts. They may not include funds from normal operating budgets or other grants. Due October 25.

- Georgia-Pacific Grant. We use our Four E focus areas (Education, Enrichment of Community, Entrepreneurship and Environment) as guideposts for giving in ways that strengthen our communities. This applies to grants for nonprofit organizations and decision-making around employee participation in company-sponsored volunteer programs. October 31.
