- Dollar General Summer Reading. These grants support the creation or expansion of summer reading programs. Local nonprofit organizations, schools and libraries are eligible to apply if their programs meet the following criteria: Target Pre-K through 12th-grade students who are new readers; Target below grade level readers; Assist readers with learning disabilities. Due February 5.

- Dollar General Family Literacy Grants. Nonprofit organizations who support the whole family in literacy and are seeking funding are encouraged to apply if they provide all of the following: Adult Education Instruction; Children’s Education; Parent and Child Together Time (PACT). Due February 5.

- Dollar General Adult Literacy Grants. We award funding to organizations that provide direct services to adults in need of literacy assistance in one of the following areas: Adult Education Instruction; GED or high school equivalency preparation; English Language Acquisition. Due February 5.

- Paint Iowa Beautiful. The Paint Iowa Beautiful Program, in collaboration with Diamond Vogel, is set to color communities across Iowa once again! This program offers free paint to a diverse range of community projects, enhancing the aesthetics of neighborhoods and public spaces. Administered by Keep Iowa Beautiful, this initiative invites communities to apply for grants to bring their visions to life. Due February 12.

- First Impressions. Applications are now open this ISU Extension and Outreach program that helps Iowa communities understand how first-time visitors experience their town so they can strengthen tourism, attract new residents and support quality of life goals. Up to five communities with 20,000 or fewer residents will be selected. Due 4 p.m. February 18.

- Derelict Building Grant Program. Funding to assist small communities and rural counties in addressing derelict buildings through deconstruction, renovation / mothballing, and/or conducting environmental studies. Due February 27.

- The Community Foundation of Cedar County is here to help our community's charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area. One of the ways that is done is through grantmaking. The Foundation annually distributes funds from its endowment earnings to numerous area non-profit organizations to fulfill our mission, "To enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve by encouraging permanent charitable giving to meet the needs of present and future generations." The Community Foundation has a broad, flexible purpose providing support to a wide variety of non-profit organizations. Due February 28.

- Rural Business Development Grants. The purpose of the program is to promote economic development and job creation projects through the awarding of grant funds to eligible entities. Applications will compete in two separate categories, business opportunity grants and business enterprise grants, for use in funding various business and community projects that serve rural areas. Due February 27.
