Transportation Planning Work Program (TPWP)
The Transportation Planning Work Program (TPWP) is a document prepared annually by ECIA staff that describes the transportation planning activities ECIA and other agencies propose to undertake during the next fiscal year. Each major activity is described in sufficient detail to indicate who will perform the work, the schedule for completing it and what will result from the activity. The TPWP also contains information on the proposed budget for each activity.
The purpose of the TPWP is to promote a unified regional approach to transportation planning in order to achieve regional goals and objectives. It also serves to document the proposed expenditures of federal, state and local transportation planning funds, and provides a management tool for ECIA and the funding agencies in scheduling major transportation planning activities, milestones and products.
The TPWP is developed by ECIA with input from local governments, area transit providers, the Iowa Department of Transportation (IADOT), the Illinois Department of Transportation (ILDOT) and the Wisconsin department of Transportation (WIDOT).
